Spazio — How to Use

Commands

Extract & Export

  1. Open a Revit model containing placed rooms.
  2. Click Avant Leap → Spazio → Extract & Export.
  3. The window shows all placed rooms with their area and element counts.
  4. Deselect any rooms you do not want to save.
  5. Choose a destination folder and a base filename (defaults to the project name).
  6. Click Export Selected. One .spazio file is saved per room.

Rooms with Area = 0 are unplaced and are automatically skipped.

Space Library

  1. Click Avant Leap → Spazio → Space Library.
  2. The left panel shows your configured library folders. Click + to add a folder.
  3. The package list shows all .spazio files across all folders with room name, area, and element count.
  4. Use the search box to filter by name. Use the area sliders to filter by size.
  5. Click any package to see a 2D preview: room boundary in blue-grey, furniture as gold dots.
  6. To place a package in the active model:
    • Make sure a floor plan view is active.
    • Select the package and click Place.
    • Click in the model to set the room origin (room center point).
    • Spazio creates the boundary walls, places a Room element, and recreates all furniture and fixtures.

Families must be loaded in the target model for elements to be placed. Missing families are skipped with a count in the summary dialog.

Tips

  • Export multiple rooms from large projects and organise them into folder libraries by building type (e.g. Hotels\, Hospitals\).
  • The .spazio file is plain JSON — it can be version-controlled, emailed, or placed on a shared drive.
  • Placement origin = room center. Pick the center of the target space, not a corner.
  • If the placed room shows as unplaced (pink), the boundary walls may not form a closed loop — check for very short wall segments in the source model.
