Privacy Policy — Sequenza

May 5, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how AvantLeap handles data when you use Sequenza, an Autodesk® Revit® add-in that extracts construction sequence data from a Revit project and exports it as CSV files for use in Navisworks TimeLiner and 3ds Max. AvantLeap is an architectural and engineering software company. This policy applies to the Sequenza add-in only. Other AvantLeap products have their own separate privacy policies.

2. Who is the data controller

AvantLeap is the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy.

3. What data the add-in processes

(a) Data stored locally

Sequenza stores a configuration record inside the Revit project file (.rvt) using Revit's Extensible Storage mechanism. This record is written to and read from the project's ProjectInformation element each time the add-in runs. The record is serialised to JSON and contains the following fields:

Field Content Personal data
LastModifiedBy The Revit application username of the person who last ran Generate Files, as returned by doc.Application.Username Yes — identifies the Revit user
LastModified Timestamp of the last configuration save No
ProjectStartDate User-selected construction start date No
WorkingDays Days of the week designated as working days No
WorkingHoursPerDay Hours per working day No
WorkingStartTime Working day start time No
WorkingEndTime Working day end time No
ExportMode Export mode selection No
SelectedCategories List of selected Revit element categories No
SimulationGroups Per-group sorting configuration (group ID, sorting method, ORI element ID, display colour) No
CustomDurations Duration estimates per category No
Notes Free-text notes field No (but may contain whatever the user types)
Version Configuration schema version number No

This record is stored only inside the Revit project file on the user's own machine or network. It is not transmitted to AvantLeap or any third party.

Sequenza also writes shared parameters directly to Revit model elements:

Parameter Content Personal data
SIMULATION Unique simulation group identifier No
SIM_PART Sequence position within the group No
LO_Level Revit level name the element is assigned to No
LO_Building Building identifier No
SIM_ORI Boolean flag marking the ORI anchor element No

These parameters are visible to all collaborators working in the same Revit project.

Sequenza exports files to the local Revit Addins folder at %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\{RevitYear}\:

File Content Personal data
Simulations Identification.csv Task names, planned dates, task type No
Simulations Components.csv Task names, element identifiers, planned dates No
MaxScript_Animation.csv Element identifiers and timing No
MaxScript_Animation_Template.ms 3ds Max script template No
SimulationConfig.json Generation settings, element counts, sorting configuration No

None of the exported CSV or JSON files contain usernames or any other personal data.

(b) Data transmitted externally

The current version of Sequenza makes no external network calls. No data is transmitted to AvantLeap or any third party. A future release will integrate the Autodesk App Store entitlement service, which will send the user's Autodesk Login User ID to Autodesk's entitlement API to verify a valid licence. This policy will be updated before that release is published.

(c) Data not collected

Sequenza does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Name, email address, or other contact information
  • Autodesk account credentials or login tokens
  • Analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
  • Crash reports or error logs sent to AvantLeap
  • IP addresses or geographic location data
  • Cookies or browser tracking data
  • Any content from Revit model geometry, drawings, or documentation

Processing activity Legal basis
Storing LastModifiedBy (Revit username) in the project file Legitimate interest — project coordination record identifying who last generated the simulation configuration

5. Data storage and security

All data processed by Sequenza is stored locally on the user's own machine or on the user's network-connected storage (for example, BIM 360 or a network drive where the Revit project file is hosted). AvantLeap does not have access to the user's machine, file system, or Revit project files.

The security of locally stored data is the responsibility of the user and their organisation's IT and data governance policies. AvantLeap has no ability to access, modify, or delete data stored in the user's Revit project files.

6. Data sharing

AvantLeap does not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties.

No third-party SDKs or services that collect data are included in the current version of Sequenza. When the Autodesk App Store entitlement service is integrated in a future release, the Autodesk entitlement API endpoint will receive the user's Autodesk Login User ID for licence verification. Autodesk's own privacy policy governs the handling of that data. This policy will be updated at that time.

7. Data retention

The LastModifiedBy username and other configuration data stored in the Revit project file persist for as long as the project file exists. The user controls the lifecycle of their own project files. Uninstalling Sequenza does not delete any shared parameters or Extensible Storage records already written to existing project files. To remove Sequenza data from a project file, delete the shared parameters using Revit's Manage > Shared Parameters interface and clear the Extensible Storage record by running the add-in's uninstall routine if one is available, or by using a Revit API tool to purge the storage schema.

Exported CSV and JSON files in the output folder persist until the user deletes them.

8. Your rights under GDPR

Because all personal data processed by Sequenza is stored locally inside your own Revit project files, you hold direct access and control over that data. The table below describes each GDPR right and how to exercise it given that local storage model.

Right How to exercise it
Right of access Open the Revit project file. The LastModifiedBy field is readable via Revit's Extensible Storage API or by inspecting the SimulationConfig.json reference file written at each generation run. Contact support@avantleap.com if you need assistance identifying stored data.
Right to rectification Overwrite the value by running Generate Files. The LastModifiedBy field is updated to the current Revit session username on each run.
Right to erasure Delete the Revit project file, or manually clear the shared parameters and Extensible Storage record from the project file. AvantLeap holds no copy of this data.
Right to restriction of processing Stop running Sequenza commands in that project. No data is written unless a command is invoked.
Right to data portability The SimulationConfig.json file written to the output folder contains the configuration data in a machine-readable JSON format and can be copied or moved freely.
Right to object Stop using Sequenza. No background processing occurs when the add-in is installed but not invoked.

To exercise any of these rights or to raise a data protection concern, contact support@avantleap.com. We will respond within 10 business days.

9. International data transfers

The current version of Sequenza performs no international data transfers. All data remains on the user's own machine.

When the Autodesk App Store entitlement service is integrated in a future release, a single call will be made to the Autodesk entitlement API. Autodesk's infrastructure may process that request in data centres outside the European Economic Area. Autodesk maintains Standard Contractual Clauses and other transfer mechanisms to cover such processing. AvantLeap's privacy policy will be updated with the details of that transfer at the time of the release.

10. Children's privacy

Sequenza is a professional AEC software tool intended for use by adults in a workplace context. AvantLeap does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 16. If you believe a user under 16 has provided personal data through use of this add-in, contact support@avantleap.com and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to this policy

AvantLeap will update this policy when any change is made to the data Sequenza processes or to the third-party services it contacts. The updated policy will be published at https://www.avantleap.com/privacypolicysequenza and the Last updated date at the top of this document will be changed. Continued use of Sequenza after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
