StudForm

Formula-Based Formwork Automation for Revit

Built for Revit 2025 and 2026 on .NET 8.0. Production-ready.

StudForm automates the placement of formwork components — studs, walers, ties, and brackets — on building faces using formula-based definitions.

Key Capabilities

📝

Formula-Based Layout

Define a formwork layout once as a formula. The tool resolves geometry and distributes studs, walers, ties, and brackets automatically every time it runs.

📚

Face-Driven Placement

Select any planar face in the Revit model — StudForm automatically creates a coordinate system from the face and places components with precise offsets and rotations.

⚙️

Flexible Distribution Modes

Control component spacing with Fixed, Distributed, or Adaptive placement conditions along horizontal, vertical, and frontal axes independently.

🔧

Formula Management UI

Full CRUD interface for building and editing formula libraries. Browse live Revit categories, families, and types directly from the management dialog.

✅

Pre-Flight Validation

Comprehensive validation chain checks document state, formula integrity, and family availability before placement — preventing errors and wasted transactions.

⚡

Revit 2025 & 2026

Built on .NET 8.0 with full support for Revit 2025 and 2026 — compiled from a shared project targeting both versions simultaneously.

Placement Modes

Origin Point

Single placement at the formula-defined origin with configurable offsets.

Multiple

Distribute components along one or more axes using spacing conditions.

Boundary

Place components aligned to face boundary edges.

Custom

User-defined placement logic for non-standard configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions

A formula is a saved configuration that defines which Revit families to place, where to start them on the face, and how to distribute multiple instances. You define it once and reuse it on any face in any project.
No. Once a formula is defined, you select a face, choose the formula, and StudForm places all components automatically. The same formula works on faces of different sizes — distribution adapts to the face geometry.
StudForm supports Revit 2025 and Revit 2026, built on .NET 8.0.
Formulas are stored as a JSON file in your AppData folder (%APPDATA%\AvantLeap\Tools\StudForm\). The path is configurable and can be shared across a team by pointing to a network location.

Define Once, Place Everywhere

Encode your formwork standards as formulas — then deploy automatically on any face in any project.
