Privacy Policy — Agenda for Autodesk Revit

1. Overview

AvantLeap is committed to user privacy. Agenda is designed to process your Revit model data locally wherever possible. This policy explains exactly what data Agenda reads, what it may transmit, to whom, and under what conditions.

2. Data Agenda reads from your Revit model

When you run Budget Analysis or Gap Analysis, Agenda reads the following from the active Revit document:

Agenda does not read:

  • User names, email addresses, or account information
  • Project file paths, project numbers, or client names embedded in model metadata
  • Sheet names, view names, or annotation content
  • Family geometry or 3D model data
  • Any Revit cloud collaboration or BIM 360 identity data

3. Local data storage

Agenda stores the following files on your local machine in %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\Agenda\:

No usage telemetry, crash reports, or analytics are collected or transmitted by Agenda. AvantLeap does not operate any telemetry backend for this product.

4. AI features and data transmission

The AI catalog generation feature is optional. It is only activated when you click "Generate with AI". Budget Analysis, Craft Schedules, Gap Analysis, and Export Schedules work fully without enabling AI.

When AI generation is used, the following data is sent to the selected AI provider:

Data transmitted:

  • A list of (category name, type name) pairs extracted from your model — for example: Walls / Generic - 200mm, Doors / Single-Flush
  • The request prompt instructing the AI to suggest unit costs

Data NOT transmitted:

  • Element counts, areas, volumes, or lengths
  • Model geometry
  • File paths, project names, or any project metadata
  • Your Autodesk account details

4.1 Claude (Anthropic)

When the Claude provider is selected, the category/type list is sent to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) over HTTPS using your personal API key.

  • Anthropic's data handling is governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy and Usage Policy.
  • Your API key is stored locally in ai-config.json only. It is sent only to Anthropic as a bearer token for authentication.
  • AvantLeap does not receive, log, or have access to your API key or the content of API calls.

4.2 OpenAI

When the OpenAI provider is selected, the category/type list is sent to OpenAI's API (api.openai.com) over HTTPS using your personal API key.

  • OpenAI's data handling is governed by the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Usage Policies.
  • Your API key is stored locally in ai-config.json only.
  • AvantLeap does not receive, log, or have access to your API key or the content of API calls.

4.3 Ollama (local — no data transmission)

When the Ollama provider is selected, all AI processing is performed locally on your machine. No data is sent to any external server or third-party service.

Ollama communicates with a locally running HTTP service (default: http://localhost:11434). This connection stays on your machine unless you explicitly configure Ollama to run on a remote server.

Ollama is the recommended choice for:

  • Projects with confidential building data
  • Organisations with data residency or air-gapped network requirements
  • Users who prefer not to create or use cloud AI provider accounts

Ollama is an open-source project. Its privacy characteristics are documented at https://ollama.com. AvantLeap is not affiliated with the Ollama project.

5. Shared parameters written to the model

When you use "Write to Model", Agenda writes three text parameters (AC_ID, AC_Des, AC_Cost) to element types in your Revit document. This is a local operation — it modifies only the open Revit document on your machine. No data is sent anywhere as part of this operation.

If your Revit document is hosted in a cloud collaboration environment (BIM 360, ACC), writing parameters will be subject to that platform's sync behaviour. Consult your BIM 360/ACC administrator if this is a concern.

6. Cost catalog files

Cost catalogs (.md files) are created and managed by the user on their own file system. Agenda reads and writes these files locally. They are not uploaded to any AvantLeap server. If you use a team shared drive for catalog files, the handling of those files is governed by your organisation's own policies.

7. No account required

Agenda does not require an AvantLeap account, login, or registration. There is no activation server, license check server, or phoning home. The product works fully offline except when using the Claude or OpenAI AI providers, which require an internet connection to their respective APIs.

8. Children's privacy

Agenda is a professional software tool for BIM and construction industry use. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

AvantLeap may update this privacy policy as new features are added. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted in the product release notes.
